If “You are what you eat” is what we believed in, we need to be cannibal when we want to be somebody.
And cannibalism is exactly what happening right now. Friend eating friend, colleague eating colleague, leaders eating followers, etc. All of those just for the sake of being somebody: somebody rich, somebody famous, somebody in power.
Moreover, “You are what you eat” show us how consumptive our generations are. We determined someone by what he/she ate, read, studied, saw, visited, etc.
The point is not what we have consumed, but what we have produced. We need to look and think about someone by what he/she produced, what he/she cooked, wrote, taught, told, did, etc.
Result is what we need. Result and products are what this country miss the most. Result and products are what we need to see in determine someone, and of course the leaders: by what policy and change they made, not by what critics or compliment they received.
Therefore, for the sake of results and products of change that we miss so much. I think “You are what you eat” is now obsolete.
“You are what you shit” would be appropriate.
